MAUGANJ, MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA – DECEMBER, 2022 24-year-old man brutally attacked his 19-year-old girlfriend because she refused to marry him. First, he slapped her, then dragged her by the hair to the ground and stomped on her head. The blows were so strong that she lost consciousness.

After his initial rage subsided and he realized what he had done, he tried to bring her back to consciousness. She didn’t respond. Finally, he assumed she was dead and left her body by the roadside.

Shortly after, local residents found her and took her to the hospital, where doctors stabilized her. The attacker and the man who recorded the video were caught and charged with bodily harm and failure to provide first aid.

Later it emerged that the girl hadn’t refused him of her own free will. She apparently loved him. Her family played a role, as they didn’t want her to marry him.
