BAMBANG, NUEVA VIZCAYA, PHILIPPINES – DECEMBER 12, 2016 19-year-old saleswoman at a video karaoke bar in Almaguer South, identified as Aiza Manaois, was shot dead by the city councilman, Arnel Duldulao, while he was drunk. The incident occurred around 3 a.m., when Duldulao consumed excessive amounts of alcohol at the Koumyangan Compound and became heavily intoxicated. For unknown reasons, he went out onto the street and began shooting randomly into the air. One of the bullets unfortunately struck Aiza fatally. The suspect then got into a car and drove away from the scene but was later apprehended. .45 caliber shell casings were found at the scene.

The incident highlights the dangers of alcohol, as well as other toxic substances, when combined with firearms. In many countries, it is illegal for good reason to be drunk while carrying a weapon. Imagine waking up the next morning with a hangover, remembering nothing, and finding yourself accused of killing someone. When you go drinking, leave your gun at home.
