PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA, INDONESIA – SEPTEMBER 2, 2025 Motorcyclist attempted a dangerous overtaking maneuver on a truck, which ended in a crash with fatal consequences. At high speed, he struck the truck and was thrown off the motorcycle. His passenger was killed instantly. He survived only because he was wearing a helmet, though he suffered a serious leg injury.
The incident once again underscores the importance of protective gear on motorcycles and following traffic regulations. Wearing a helmet can mean the difference between life and death.
The accident occurred in the village of Bukit Baru, on Tanjung Barangan Street, in front of the Nurlela tailoring shop.
