SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA – SEPTEMBER 7, 2025 19-year-old man died in a collision with a tram on Peterhof Street. He was riding his electric scooter, which he used for getting around the city. Unfortunately, he did not pay enough attention to his surroundings and entered directly into the path of the moving tram. The consequences were fatal, and he died at the scene.
The victim’s name has not been released, but police stated that he was a second-year student at a university in St. Petersburg. He was from Strelna. Further details of the accident are still under investigation.
The incident shows how even a common electric scooter, which in most countries does not require a driver’s license, can be dangerous. Whenever you ride such a vehicle, pay full attention to your surroundings. Even if you don’t need a license, knowing and following traffic rules should be a given.
