ICA, PERU – SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 On the Pan-American Highway near Mercado San Antonio, there was a collision between a truck and a person. An 83-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was hit while carelessly attempting to cross the busy road. He suffered severe head injuries, with his skull literally shattered and his brain spilling onto the asphalt. He died at the scene.
The truck driver stopped immediately and remained until the police arrived. They conducted a blood alcohol test, which came back negative. Although the entire incident is still under investigation, witness statements suggest it was the victim’s fault, as he failed to look properly and stepped directly into the path of the moving truck.
The incident underscores how fragile human life is and how little it takes for everything to end. Take care of yourselves and always look carefully before crossing the road.
