BANJAR, SOUTH KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA – SEPTEMBER 4, 2025 Collision between a car and a moped occurred on Ahmad Yani Street, near the Citraland residential area. The victims were three adult women and one small child, all riding the same moped together. While the child died at the scene, all the women suffered serious injuries. They were transported to the hospital in critical condition, but no further updates on their health are currently available. Only one of them, Noor Halimah, the mother of the child, was identified at the scene.
The incident highlights the importance of following traffic laws and basic safety rules, especially for motorcyclists. These rules include not exceeding the passenger limit set by the motorcycle manufacturer. While it is common in some countries, including Indonesia, it is definitely unsafe, as it significantly reduces maneuverability. Carrying a small child on a motorcycle is also strongly discouraged for safety reasons.
