VIETNAM During a live stream as part of a TikTok challenge, a young Vietnamese man decided to drink some kind of detergent. He thought it would be funny and that he might at most vomit, but the consequences were fatal. Just a few sips caused him to choke and lose consciousness. His mother found him after a few minutes and called an ambulance, but all efforts were in vain. He was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
The incident highlights the dangers of TikTok challenges and risky behavior driven by the desire for social media attention.
