BARQUISIMETO, LARA, VENEZUELA – NOVEMBER 26, 2025 Tragic accident occurred at the intersection of Florencio Jiménez Avenue near the entrance to the El Tostado community. A sudden traffic light malfunction caused a truck to drive into a group of pedestrians crossing the street, as well as vehicles from the opposite direction. Both had a green light. Three people died on the spot, some of them literally crushed. Another nine suffered injuries of varying severity.
The accident serves as a harsh reminder that road safety requires constant attention and vigilance. Drivers and pedestrians alike cannot rely solely on traffic signals to protect them; every intersection demands awareness, caution, and responsibility to prevent such devastating outcomes.
