RUSSIA – NOVEMBER 27, 2025 Gambling debts drove the Russian to suicide. He took the elevator up to the 14th floor of an apartment building and jumped down. He died on the spot.
Gambling can be as addictive as some drugs. The uncertainty and predictive reward trigger the release of dopamine in the brain. Some addicts even play just for the thrill of a possible win. However, gambling is never profitable in the long term, and the only one who benefits is the casino. Addiction often quickly leads to the loss of money, savings, and bankruptcy.
