MANACAPURU, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – DECEMBER 7, 2025 36-year-old Marinilza Loureiro de Souza was fatally electrocuted by a fallen high-voltage cable at the 2nd kilometer of the AM-352 road. The discharge was so strong that she practically lost consciousness instantly and her body caught fire.

The accident happened when Marinilza was traveling on a motorcycle with her husband and son. They ran out of fuel and all three were forced to push the motorcycle manually. During this, she came into contact with the fallen live cable, which, according to the military police, was caused by a strong gust of wind that knocked a tree onto the wires.
