NARANJAL, GUAYAS, ECUADOR – DECEMBER 6, 2025 Man attempted to cross a busy multi-lane highway. However, he failed to correctly judge the speed of an approaching car and stepped directly into its path. The driver only noticed him at the moment of impact, which the pedestrian unfortunately had no chance of surviving. The incident was recorded by the dashcam of an uninvolved vehicle.
The accident is a reminder of how dangerous it is to cross a roadway. In the case of multi-lane highways, doing so is even illegal in many countries – and for good reason. Drivers on highways travel at high speeds and generally do not expect pedestrians to appear. Always cross roads only at designated places, and even then make sure drivers are aware of you and can see you. Stay safe!
