NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, USA – NOVEMBER 15, 2025 Around 7 p.m., a mass shooting occurred on Chancellor Avenue that shook the community and claimed several lives. A group of gunmen armed with handguns opened fire on a group of people standing on the street in front of a store. The incident was captured by a security camera.
A 10-year-old boy, Jordan Garcia, was struck by one of the bullets and died while being transported to the hospital. Among the victims was also a 21-year-old woman, Kiyah Mae Scott. Later, the hospital confirmed the tragic death of 19-year-old Masi Rogers, who had fought for his life for several days with severe injuries.
Three other people were injured in the incident, including an 11-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man, and a 60-year-old man. All three were hospitalized, and their conditions were later described as stable.
Police and prosecutors announced that they arrested four men in connection with the case, aged 16, 19, 26, and 31. All four were charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy, and other crimes, and they are also facing additional charges related to the armed attack.
