MACHALA, ECUADOR Elderly man noticed a lit firecracker on the hood of a parked car. In an attempt to protect the property, he approached and tried to remove the firecracker. At the very moment he touched it, it exploded, seriously injuring his hand. It is not yet clear who set off the firecrackers.
