BRAZIL Man attempted to rob a fairly busy convenience store. However, his actions were not met with understanding by the local residents. A group of brave individuals detained him on the spot while an angry crowd gathered. They brutally beat him before the police arrived. Some of them did not hesitate to use wooden sticks.
Although such a reaction from residents may seem natural, it is actually a crime. Even a robber has the right to a fair trial and punishment according to the law. Anyone who participates in a lynching can often be punished more severely than the offender themselves.
