COSTA RICA – JANUARY 23, 2026 Cyclist was overlooked at an intersection by a truck driver who was beginning a turning maneuver. The truck struck him, ran over him, and caused injuries from which the cyclist died at the scene.
The blame clearly lies with the truck driver, who should have yielded to the cyclist. Nevertheless, incidents like this serve primarily as a warning to all cyclists and motorcyclists. They are among the most vulnerable road users. Beyond following traffic rules, they should anticipate the behavior of other drivers to prevent such accidents.
