GAZIANTEP, TURKEY – FEBRUARY 21, 2026 Eighteen-year-old Barış Tanrıverdi died in a tragic traffic accident. The incident occurred on the D-400 highway in the Şehitkamil district, where the young man was riding a bicycle equipped with an auxiliary motor. As part of a dangerous maneuver, Barış lay flat on the machine to increase its speed, and at full speed, he crashed into the rear of a passenger car. Arriving paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene due to devastating injuries. Police subsequently seized video recordings that his friends had been taking on their mobile phones during the fatal ride.
