CARPINA, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – JANUARY 14, 2026 Brutal attack occurred in a TIM mobile operator store. Sixty-four-year-old Manuel Ferreira da Silva Santos attacked the store manager, 46-year-old Carlos André Barbosa Figueiredo, after coming to complain about alleged overcharging for services.
CCTV footage revealed that the attacker first threw stacks of billing papers on the desk, then walked around the desk and struck the manager directly in the chest with a butcher knife. According to witnesses, the attack was cold-blooded, and the senior had sharpened the knife in advance for this act. The perpetrator tried to flee the scene but was detained by bystanders until the police arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital in Recife in critical but stable condition. Manuel Ferreira was charged with attempted murder and remains in custody.
