UKRAINE Drone footage shows a possible violation of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners. Allegedly, Ukrainian soldiers have no mercy for their surrendering Russian enemy. They execute him with a shot from an assault rifle directly to the head. Although it is already obvious that he is dead, the soldier nonetheless continues to shoot into his head.
The Geneva Convention explicitly forbids the killing, torture, or ill-treatment of prisoners of war. This applies whenever a soldier is no longer participating in combat – he is seriously injured, surrendering, etc. Any individual who violates this convention can be criminally prosecuted and sentenced to up to 30 years in prison. That is why it is extremely important to collecting such materials that can serve as evidence.
