Random passersby got involved in the incident and managed to stop the attack and neutralize the attacker. The hero of the day was a 31-year-old mechanic who used a metal rod as a weapon against the attacker. He struck him with it in the neck area, severing his spinal cord and killing him.
The woman was taken for emergency treatment and according to all available information, her condition is stable. The mechanic had to give a statement to the police regarding grievous bodily harm resulting in death. In the end, however, he was not charged with anything and was released after questioning.
