MANTENÓPOLIS, ESPÍRITO SANTO, BRAZIL – MAY 3, 2026 In the Bela Vista district, a tragic accident occurred in which a 56-year-old man named Edilson Pereira da Silva died. According to security camera footage, he was sitting drunk in the middle of the road when he was hit and partially run over by a passing car.
The driver immediately stopped, called emergency services, and waited for their arrival. The injured man was transported to the hospital, but died the following day. The family stated that the man had been under the influence of alcohol during the day and refused help with getting a ride home. A breath test on the driver was negative, meaning no alcohol was detected. Police are investigating the case, and the driver was released after questioning.
