VOLTA REDONDA, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – MAY 7, 2026 Serious motorcycle accident occurred involving a rider who, in the evening hours, failed to handle a turn in the Retiro area. According to security camera footage, the man lost control of the motorcycle while turning and was thrown directly into a roadside wall.
It involved a 45-year-old driver who suffered severe injuries after the impact. Paramedics transported him to São João Batista Hospital, where doctors diagnosed lung injuries and several broken ribs. He remained hospitalized and his current condition has not been disclosed.
