DOGAR, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN – OCTOBER 29, 2025 Armed clash between the Pakistani army and militants linked to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) movement occurred in northwestern Pakistan. According to the Pakistani military, it was an operation against armed men referred to by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij, during which an intense firefight broke out.

According to the Pakistani military, six soldiers, including a military doctor, were killed during the clash. The army also stated that its forces killed seven militants. The Kurram region, which is located near the border with Afghanistan, has long been one of the unstable areas due to the presence of armed groups and frequent security incidents.
Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, is a militant Islamist organization founded in 2007. Although it is not a direct part of the Afghan Taliban, it shares a similar ideology and has historically maintained links with some of its structures. The Pakistani government and several foreign countries classify TTP as a terrorist organization.
The goal of TTP is to overthrow the Pakistani government and establish a state governed according to its extremist interpretation of Islamic law. The group rejects the democratic political system and has long waged an armed struggle against the Pakistani state, particularly targeting the military, police, and government institutions.
