ORMARA, PAKISTAN – OCTOBER 15, 2020 On a coastal highway near the city of Ormara, an attack occurred on a military convoy. Unknown armed men ambushed passing Pakistani units, killing 15 soldiers. The attackers also destroyed two military vehicles and took weapons and other military equipment from the scene.
The attack was claimed by the group BRAS (Baloch Raaji Aajohi e Sangar), which is an alliance of several Baloch separatist organizations operating in the Balochistan region. These include for example BLA, BLF, BRA, and BRG. These groups have long been seeking independence or greater autonomy for the region and are engaged in an armed conflict against the Pakistani state.
