MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – MAY 21, 2019 25-year-old Nataly Michel Rodríguez Romero was a contestant on the popular Mexican reality show Enamorándonos. She also previously worked as a model and appeared in a television program that helps people form relationships. Her case later became part of a broader debate about violence against women and unsolved murders in Mexico.

She was found dead in her apartment in the Venustiano Carranza district. Neighbors had previously heard a loud argument between her and a man who reportedly visited her. When police arrived, they found her body in the bedroom, and according to the investigation she died from suffocation or strangulation. The apartment showed no signs of forced entry, suggesting that she likely knew the attacker. The main suspect was her partner, known by the nickname “Polaco”, who was never officially convicted and the case remains unsolved.
