MANCHAY, LIMA REGION, PERU – APRIL 3, 2025 Serious traffic accident occurred in the Pachacámac area involving a taxi tuktuk transporting schoolchildren. According to reports, the vehicle was speeding and then violently crashed into a store. Camera footage from the scene showed that the tuktuk was moving very fast before the crash, and investigators are considering two main possible causes – either brake failure or speeding.
The accident claimed at least three lives, including a schoolgirl approximately 16 years old (in some sources referred to by the initials D.L.A.L.) and two adults, including the female mototaxi driver, Eva Pinto Llacsahuanga. Another six minor passengers were injured and transported to the hospital.
Local residents and emergency services helped extricate the injured directly at the scene. The incident deeply affected the school community of “Los Jardines de Manchay,” whose students were among both the victims and the injured.
