VALLEDUPAR, CESAR, COLOMBIA – FEBRUARY 6, 2025 Brutal double murder occurred in the Bello Horizonte 2 neighborhood, in which two men were shot dead. The victims were Brayan José Galet Cárdenas (23) and Danis Abel Salas Hoyos (34), who, according to local media, were sitting in front of a store and spending time playing slot machines.

The calm evening turned into a bloody attack within seconds when armed attackers, likely hitmen, arrived at the scene. Without any warning, they opened fire directly at both men. Brayan José Galet Cárdenas suffered several gunshot wounds, including shots to the face. Danis Abel Salas Hoyos was shot in the arm, face, and back of the chest.
Witnesses immediately tried to help them and, in an improvised rescue effort, transported them to Eduardo Arredondo Daza Hospital, specifically to the La Nevada branch. Despite efforts to save them, both succumbed to their injuries.
The motive for the attack remains unclear. Colombian authorities are working with the theory of a targeted execution and are not ruling out possible ties to criminal activity or score-settling. None of the perpetrators have been captured.
