JOINVILLE, SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL – JUNE 9, 2026 Two hitmen used disguises as garbage collectors to get close to their target unnoticed. The target was 29-year-old Paulo Sérgio da Silva Caetano, who worked as a barber. Both men stormed the establishment where he worked and killed him with a series of gunshots.
When Paulo Sérgio da Silva Caetano fell dead to the ground, both attackers fled the scene. At that time, police had already been alerted and pursued them, even using a specially equipped helicopter. Both were eventually detained and will face justice.
Police secured many pieces of evidence, including the motorcycle used as their getaway vehicle. They also seized two pistols with removed serial numbers and ammunition.
Although the case is still under police investigation and conclusions are not yet known, some local residents already believe they know what happened. They claim the murder is likely related to gang activity and overall crime in the city. However, these assumptions have not yet been officially confirmed.
