Businessman was shot dead while resisting armed robbery

JOÃO PESSOA, PARAÍBA, BRAZIL – JULY 2, 2026 Twenty-nine-year-old businessman Bruno Melo lost his life during an armed robbery at his cell phone store. According to available information, he tried to confront the perpetrators, but they shot him. He suffered severe gunshot wounds and died at the scene before emergency medical services arrived.

The entire attack was captured by security cameras installed inside the store. After the shooting, the perpetrators fled the scene while police launched a large-scale manhunt. The following day, one of the men suspected of involvement in the robbery and murder was arrested, but authorities did not release his identity.
