KANDOLO VILLAGE, EAST KUTAI REGENCY, EAST KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA – JULY 16, 2026 21-year-old motorcyclist died after a serious traffic accident that occurred on the main road between the cities of Bontang and Sangatta in Kandolo village. The young man identified by the initials EP, who was from Samarinda, was riding a Honda CRF motorcycle when, according to the police’s preliminary investigation, he lost control of the motorcycle while passing through a winding and uneven section of the road. He then entered the opposite lane, where he collided head-on with an approaching tanker vehicle.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The tanker driver was not reported as injured in available reports. Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident, questioning witnesses and collecting evidence to determine all factors that led to the collision.
