TEHERAN, IRAN Tehran police arrested a man named Navid Ziad Khan Qaradaghi, who, according to claims circulating on social media, became notorious for exceptionally brutal violence against women. During his live broadcasts on Instagram, he allegedly repeatedly physically assaulted women, insulted them with vulgar language, and in some cases even showed their bloodstained clothing on camera. The footage reportedly sparked widespread outrage across Iran.

According to released information, police located the suspect after an intelligence investigation and found that he had an extensive criminal record. He had allegedly already been arrested ten times for crimes including assault, harassment, theft, cyberstalking, and making death threats. He had also reportedly served several prison sentences in the past.
The arrest itself reportedly took place during a nighttime operation in the Khorramshahr Street area of Tehran. According to police, the man attacked the responding officers with a knife or another bladed weapon while they attempted to arrest him. When he failed to respond to warning shots, the officers used their service weapons. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and his left arm before being taken into custody and transported to a hospital.

Following his capture, numerous calls for the death penalty appeared on social media. At the same time, a hacker group calling itself Adalat-e Ali claimed it had obtained and released his personal information, along with part of a video showing the police operation.
