LA APARTADA, CORDOBA, COLOMBIA – AUGUST 4, 2026 Journey toward a new life ended in tragedy. Twenty-three-year-old Liney León Tordecilla died in a traffic accident that occurred in the Colombian department of Córdoba. The young woman was traveling on a motorcycle with her partner toward Medellín, where they wanted to start a new stage of life together.
The couple
According to preliminary information, the couple set out from the city of Tierralta after visiting their relatives. While riding in the area of the municipality of La Apartada, the motorcycle lost stability for reasons that have not yet been clarified, and both passengers fell onto the road. Liney ended up directly in the path of an oncoming truck, which struck her. She suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene.
Her partner survived the accident, but he suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he remains under medical care. Official information about his health condition has not yet been released.
Colombian authorities continue to investigate the accident. The exact cause of the loss of control of the motorcycle is still unknown. Among the possibilities being considered is the effect of a wet road after rain, but investigators have not officially confirmed this version so far.
