SLOVENIA 66-year-old man was found dead in the garage of his home in a pool of blood. Investigators determined that he had first attempted to take his own life with a knife, suffering cuts to his forearms and neck. After the unsuccessful attempt, he subsequently used an electric drill.
The drill was found still switched on, with bloody handprints on its cord and handle. An analysis of the traces at the scene suggested that the man eventually pressed against the drill with such force that he caused a fatal injury to the cervical spine. The case was closed as a suicide.
