Injured criminals after unsuccessful robbery attempt

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – AUGUST 12, 2026 Three suspects attempted to rob a cigarette shipment on Rua Marina in the Bento Ribeiro neighborhood. Police spotted them, and a shootout broke out, leaving two of the suspects wounded while the third managed to escape. Firefighters responded to the scene and treated the two wounded men before they were taken into temporary custody.
