BELA, BALOCHISTAN PROVINCE, PAKISTAN – JULY 8, 2026 Terrorists from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked a Pakistani army convoy in the Bela-Winder area. According to the Pakistani military, 11 soldiers were killed in the attack, while a subsequent operation reportedly killed 14 militants, according to its figures. The BLA gave its own, higher number of casualties on the army’s side, which has not been independently confirmed.
Balochistan has long been plagued by an armed insurgency against the Pakistani government. The BLA is one of the main separatist groups in the region and seeks an independent Baloch state. It primarily targets security forces, state infrastructure, and Chinese projects, but it has also attacked civilians in the past.
