GUANGZHOU, GUANGDONG, CHINA – SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 35-year-old man identified by police as Li Mou attacked several people with a knife outside a hotpot restaurant in the GOGO New World shopping complex. Police received a report at around 5:20 p.m. and subsequently detained the suspect. The injured victims were taken to a hospital.
According to Chinese media and footage circulating online, the attacker inflicted stab wounds to the faces of several victims, reportedly targeting the eye area in particular. Some footage shows bloodied victims, most of them women.
Police said that none of the injured victims was in life-threatening condition after receiving medical treatment. Li Mou remained in police custody, and the case is still under investigation.
