GHAZIABAD, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA – SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 Sixteen-year-old Shanaya Bisht died after falling from the 15th floor of her apartment in the Gaur Siddhartham complex. The 10th-grade student at Indirapuram Public School suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

At the scene, police found a two-page suicide note in which Shanaya stated that she was unable to cope with the pressure associated with her studies. She wrote: “I cannot cope with the pressure from my studies. Because of the pressure from my studies, I am taking my life. I am not blaming anyone. I hold myself responsible.” She also wrote to her parents: “Mom and Dad… I love you.”
In another part of the letter, she asked her parents to take care of her grandmother and younger sister, Riddhi. She also wrote to her loved ones: “Please, don’t worry about me anymore. Live your lives happily.”
The fall occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. A security guard and residents of the complex rushed to the scene after hearing a loud impact. Police subsequently sent Shanaya Bisht’s body for an autopsy.
Investigators are now examining the letter and her handwriting and speaking with her family and residents of the complex to determine the circumstances of the case.
