MEXICO Members of the notorious Mexican CJNG cartel mutilated the dead body of their rival after executing him. The man was killed in a shallow grave, after which they severed his head from his body and recorded the entire act on video.
Drug cartels use similar recordings, among other things, to intimidate rivals and demonstrate their own power and brutality.
The case illustrates the violent practices associated with the activities of drug cartels and the bloody side of the drug trade. Violence does not necessarily involve only people directly involved in the cartels – demand for illegal drugs can also contribute to it indirectly. Say no to drugs.
