CABO SAN LUCAS, BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, MEXICO – OCTOBER 20, 2026 18-year-old Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco died after falling from a carnival ride during traditional festivities and hitting the ground hard. Emergency responders provided first aid and transported her to a hospital, where she died despite the efforts of medical staff. Her death was confirmed by the city government the following day.

The case is being investigated by the Baja California Sur prosecutor’s office. Experts are examining the technical condition of the ride as well as whether safety measures were followed. The exact cause of the fall has not yet been officially confirmed.
