CHINA Photos show doctors at work during the initial examination and subsequent autopsy of a victim of a car accident. Unfortunately, the woman sustained injuries incompatible with life and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Even though the cause of death in car accident victims is sometimes obvious at first glance, an autopsy may still be necessary. It is used to determine the exact mechanism of death, rule out medical causes of the accident, and conduct toxicological testing. Last but not least, it also helps rule out any involvement of a third party, such as someone attempting to use the accident to cover up a murder.
