He contacted the police, who forcibly opened the door to his apartment. He was found inside, dead, with a plastic bag pulled over his head. The investigation showed that it was not a suicide, but an accident caused during a masturbation practice known as autoerotic asphyxiation.
Autoerotic asphyxiation is a practice in which an individual deliberately restricts the oxygen supply to the brain during masturbation or sexual stimulation, with the aim of enhancing the intensity of orgasm. It is believed that short-term hypoxia (lack of oxygen) can cause euphoria, dizziness, and heightened sensory perception, which for some people leads to a more intense sexual experience.
It must be noted that this masturbation practice is extremely risky and there are already many cases that have resulted in the death of the individual.
