At least 10 people killed inside pool hall in Ecuador

GENERAL VILLAMIL PLAYAS, GUAYAS, ECUADOR – JULY 19, 2025 Group of armed men stormed into a pool hall in the Santa Isabel district and opened fire on everyone inside. The attack left at least 10 people dead.

The incident is currently under police investigation, and the attackers’ motive remains unknown. However, similar attacks on businesses – targeting both patrons and employees – are often carried out by extortion gangs as retaliation for refusing to pay protection money.
