SÃO LUÍS, MARANHÃO, BRAZIL – JULY 29, 2025 Young man was on the street with his girlfriend when they were approached by two armed robbers on a motorcycle. The robbers demanded his phone and wallet at gunpoint. However, he refused to comply and tried to resist. His girlfriend escalated the situation further by yelling at the attackers. That prompted one of the robbers to pull the trigger. The man was shot in the head right in front of his girlfriend. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died.
In such situations, general advice is that your life is the most valuable thing you have – far more valuable than any personal belongings. It’s never worth trying to be a hero. Cooperation with robbers is strongly recommended. Speak to them calmly and clearly, and avoid making eye contact.
