CABO DELGADO, MOZAMBIQUE Mozambican branch of the Islamic State carried out an attack on a military base near the village of Dimayo in the Muidumbe region. The result was several dead soldiers.
After ISIS was defeated in the Middle East, this terrorist organization has been trying to remain active in poor African regions. Mozambique is actively trying to fight this and receives international military support from Rwanda and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Despite this, terrorists have managed to strengthen their activities there in recent years.
