MATURÍN, MONAGAS, VENEZUELA – FEBRUARY 27, 2026 Busy La Cruz intersection became the scene of a fatal traffic accident. A collision between a motorcycle and a black pick-up truck ended in the death of a woman who was traveling as a passenger.
According to investigators, the motorcycle collided with a Ford Ranger so unfortunately that the motorcycle was thrown directly into the central median of the road. While the woman suffered injuries incompatible with life and died on the scene, the motorcycle driver, twenty-eight-year-old Leonardo Romero, was luckier. Summoned paramedics urgently transported him with serious injuries to the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar University Hospital.
Local police are now examining the circumstances of the crash to determine whether inattention, high speed, or a technical fault on one of the vehicles was behind the accident.
