ITURI, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO – OCTOBER, 2025 Terrorists from the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces), which is practically a branch of ISIS, carried out an armed attack on a Ugandan military vehicle. It happened on the road connecting the towns of Komanda and Mambasa. The attack claimed at least three lives among Ugandan soldiers.
Uganda, as part of Operation “Shujaa,” cooperates with the DRC in the fight against terrorism and sends its own army into the country. The ADF is originally a Ugandan terrorist group, but after being defeated in Uganda in the late 1990s, they were forced to retreat into the DRC. This is also one of the reasons why they consider the Ugandan army their main enemy.
