ANGUERA, BAHIA, BRAZIL – OCTOBER 14, 2025 In the rural area of Anguera, near the settlement of Guaribas by the Ribeirão do Cavaco road, the dead bodies of three women were found buried in a shallow grave. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Letícia Araújo Rodrigues, 21-year-old Carol Ferreira Rodrigues, and 15-year-old Rafaela Carvalho Silva. All had been missing since October 6.

The site of the shallow grave was very difficult to access and had no cell phone signal. However, the police carried out precise search work. On October 8, two days after their disappearance, Operation Vale das Sombras was launched to find the women. On October 9, a house in the Anguera area was located that served as a hideout for the perpetrators. At the scene, traces of blood, drug residues, and personal belongings of the victims were found. On October 11, two search warrants were executed, during which cell phones and clothing belonging to one of the victims were seized. On October 13, a 19-year-old woman was arrested in connection with their disappearance and on suspicion of murder. On October 14, the shallow grave was found, confirming that the missing women had been murdered. In connection with the case, two more women and two men were arrested, who are suspected of direct involvement in the crime.
The police investigation is still ongoing. Its goal is now to determine the motive for the murder and the specific roles of the perpetrators. Some unverified sources claim that the victims were involved in drug trafficking.
