FETHIYE, MUĞLA, TURKEY – AUGUST 6, 2025 Serious accident occurred on Cahit Beğenç Boulevard in the Foça district. Sixty-one-year-old British tourist Lisa Jane Di Palma was struck at a pedestrian crossing by a reckless driver. The car was driven by 54-year-old Şenay Koparal, who was later found to be heavily intoxicated.

After hitting her, Koparal did not stop to provide first aid but continued driving, running over her again in an attempt to flee the scene. Witnesses intervened and detained him until police arrived.
Lisa was taken to a hospital in Muğla in serious condition and then transferred to a hospital in Fethiye, where she underwent hip surgery. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, she sadly passed away on August 13, 2025.
