BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, USA – FEBRUARY 11, 2025 Tragic incident occurred in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick that shook not only the entire local community. 41-year-old Gabriel Sanchez shot his girlfriend, 31-year-old Celina Ramos, in the street. Shortly after, he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

The incident happened at 7:30 in the morning at 1345 Jefferson Avenue, near Knickerbocker Avenue. According to some reports, the couple lived on the same street. Certain witnesses said they first heard a very loud argument. Then they saw Gabriel chasing his girlfriend down the street, followed by three gunshots.
Security camera footage shows Celina being killed by a single shot to the head. Gabriel then turns the gun on himself and attempts suicide with a shot to the neck. That did not bring immediate effect, so he shot himself again in the head, which was fatal.
Celina’s family said she was very calm and balanced. She spent her childhood with her grandmother in Williamsburg and had recently started working at a city call center. Her relationship with Sanchez reportedly lasted only a few months. They allegedly met through her brother.
Gabriel Sanchez had always been a thug who had past problems with the law and relationships. In January 2025, he was arrested for stalking and harassing an ex-girlfriend. He reportedly kept her nude photos and threatened to release them. A court date had been set for March 6.
