Man accused of theft met with neither understanding nor mercy from the local residents. Instead of calling the police, they tortured him to death. They let burning plastic drip on him until he had burns on all parts of his body. Later, he died from his injuries.
Taking justice into one’s own arms is never a good idea. Even a thief is a human being who has basic human rights, such as the right to a fair trial and punishment according to the law. Anyone who commits such an act of self-justice can be, in the eyes of the law, more guilty than the thief himself.
