KAŠTEL ŠTAFILIĆ, CROATIA – APRIL 1, 2024 On a quiet night street in a small Croatian town, a heated conflict broke out, resulting in two men being seriously injured. One was shot, and the other sustained a head injury from a blunt object – an axe.
The whole conflict started over a trivial matter: a man named Kruno parked in someone else’s parking spot. The man who owned the spot reacted impulsively, pulled out a pistol, and started shooting at the car from his apartment window. Kruno was hit and barely managed to crawl out of the car to seek help.
While his friends gathered to give him first aid, the attacker ran outside holding an axe and attacked one of them, hitting him in the head. Fortunately, the attacker was eventually overpowered, disarmed, and detained until the police arrived. The police confirmed that the attacker is a known repeat offender who has been convicted of violence multiple times in the past.
Kruno was transported to a hospital in Split, where he underwent extensive abdominal surgery, but doctors ultimately managed to save his life. The second man was also hospitalized but was never in life-threatening condition.
